Three questions with Jenifer Johnson and Lisa Shaplen founders of Sweet Bean Events
Why did you start your business?
We met 5 years ago when we were room parents for our Kindergartners. We worked so well together, that we continued chairing events and volunteering through the community hosting events and fundraising for local non-profits. We always knew we would one day be business partners. We have a passion for event planning and design and are excited to bring this passion to our community which we love so much.
Best selling product or service?
We offer full-service event planning and design for all types of events. Birthday parties and weddings seem to be our most popular requests. We love them all and enjoy the unique energy each client and event brings. Part of being a successful planner is having a talented team of event professionals and vendors that you can recommend and partner with.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
Ridgefield is bursting with exceptional bakeries, venues, chefs, florists, sommeliers, performers, and overall creative talent. We are lucky to have our pick of fabulous vendors right in our own backyard!
Anything you want the community to know?
On May 14th, we will be teaming up with Fairfield County Bank, KO Parties, and several favorite Ridgefield businesses to bring magic to Ridgefield's Ballard Park! Princesses in the Park is free to the community and has plenty of fun and surprises in store for the whole family. More details to come.
Have you reimagined your small business?
We've reimagined it many times! We are enjoying the variety of events we are being requested to do. Our community will have a big impact on the direction in which our company grows depending on what services they would like to see most. We look forward to seeing what the future of Sweet Bean in Ridgefield will bring.
