You're IT Amy Kahn Russell Jewelry!

Three questions with Amy Kahn Russell.

Amy Kahn Russell Jewelry will hold a Holiday Sample Sale at The First Congregational Church in Ridgefield December 7-10

Why did you start your business?

I had just returned from living in Hong Kong and managing a pearl outlet. My background was in fine art and I had made and sold jewelry since I was a teenager. I had a young baby at home, but I wanted to do something creative so I combined my love of art, nature, travel, and jewelry.

I began designing and making art to wear jewelry in my home-based studio. One of our first big clients was Saks Fifth Ave. We then diversified from there eventually selling worldwide to museum galleries and boutiques.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Our best-selling products are handmade jewelry that combines earrings, pins/pendants, bracelets, and necklaces. Constructed from handcrafted items made in our studio, found artifacts, natural minerals, and semiprecious gemstones, they are inspired by ancient and modern cultures worldwide.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

We are continually reimagining and reinventing our business. As you can imagine Covid set this small business back a few steps. We are a business owned by a woman and we employ a small staff of incredibly talented local women. And, these amazing women are also our demographic. We love our customers and continually design with them in mind. During Covid we could not do our usual craft and trade shows, so we opened a small 'Pop Up' boutique on Bailey Ave. We are always striving to meet the needs of our customers.

With that said we are holding our Holiday Sample Sale Dec 7-10 at The First Congregational Church at 103 Main Street right here in Ridgefield.

Amy Kahn would like to nominate The Guilded Lynx on Main Street in Ridgefield to be featured next!
