Three questions with Jason Kenney, founder of Kenney Electrical Services.
Why did you start your business?
I started my electrical career in 2009 and ever since then, I knew I wanted to have my own electrical contracting business one day. I completed my apprenticeship and in time got my master electrician license. At the time, I was the full-time electrician at Stamford Hospital but in 2018, I took the leap of faith and opened Kenney Electrical Services.
I've always taken great pride in my work and have always enjoyed the satisfaction of a job well done. For example, I always love seeing customers' eyes "light" up when they see their new recessed lighting project, or shiny new dining room chandelier.
What is your best-selling product/service?
As a full-service electrical contractor, we offer many services. No project is too big or small. We offer anything from simple outlet repair, light fixture swaps, and general electrical service calls to larger projects such as your electrical needs for kitchen and bath remodels, basement finishing, additions, and new construction. We also offer generator installs, landscape lighting and so much more!
We use many local businesses in Ridgefield in our day-to-day operations. Ridgefield Hardware and Ridgefield Supply are always there for us when we need that last-minute part. Local delis like Parma market and Tony's Corner deli keep us going at lunchtime. We often team up with AJC Contracting, completing people's new dream kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and more!
