Rep. Frey Joins Rep. Ferguson and Sen. Boucher at Ridgefield League of Women Voters Forum

State Representative John Frey (R-111) along with his legislative colleagues State Representative Michael Ferguson and State Senator Toni Boucher (R-26) attended the Ridgefield League of Women Voters’ annual “Meet Your Legislators” event at the Ridgefield Library this past Saturday.  At the forum, the legislators spoke to the attendees about pressing state issues and specific topics that the General Assembly is tackling as it passes the halfway point of the 2018 “short session.”

The legislators discussed the status of the governor’s budget recommendations, transportation funding, gun safety measures, and how the state must act in order to solve its ongoing fiscal crisis and unfunded pension liabilities.  Rep. Frey talked about his ideas to prohibit state elected officials from receiving state pensions and eliminate overtime pay and mileage reimbursements from state employee pension calculations.

After, legislators took questions from attendees and responded to questions and concerns brought forward.
