Aimee Berger-Girvalo, Democratic candidate for the 111th House District representing Ridgefield, has received an A rating from Connecticut Against Gun Violence (CAGV), their highest rating.
An early organizer and participant in the March for Change, she consistently advocates for stronger gun safety laws including banning ghost guns and 3D-printed guns, removing guns in the case of domestic violence or the threat of domestic abuse, and limitations on the number of guns and rounds of ammunition that can be purchased at one time.
“I am honored to receive an A rating from CAGV,” says Berger-Girvalo. “I have pledged to work tirelessly to keep our families, schools and communities safe. As a mother, I am saddened that my two children are growing up with the reality that gun violence can occur in schools, churches and community spaces. They should not have to live with these fears.”
Berger-Girvalo acknowledges that responsible gun owners know that supporting the Second Amendment goes hand in hand with common-sense solutions to reduce gun violence. “Doing more to keep guns out of the hands of felons, domestic abusers and people with dangerous histories means we can make our communities safer and save lives.”
