Aimee Berger-Girvalo Has Key Endorsements from First Selectman Rudy Marconi and Senator Richard Blumenthal

Aimee Berger-Girvalo, Democratic candidate for State Representative for the 111th District (Ridgefield), has been endorsed by Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi and Senator Richard Blumenthal.

“We all are aware of the issues, the major issues, that are impacting each and every one of our municipalities,” says First Selectman Marconi. “I am supporting Aimee as a fresh face in Hartford. Someone who’s not afraid to speak up from the floor and bring the issues that we need brought to the floor of the legislature. All of them need to be spoken about more aggressively from our representative and I think Aimee is the perfect [person] to do that. Please vote for Aimee Berger-Girvalo on November 6.” [endorsement video]

According to Senator Blumenthal, the new leadership and energy that Aimee will bring to the state legislature is desperately needed, especially on issues such as protecting against gun violence, sexual assault, and protecting women’s healthcare. “I am proud to support Aimee because she’s a fighter. She gets things done and she will work hard and fight for you.” [endorsement video]

In recent weeks, Berger-Girvalo has also received endorsements from Susan Bysiewicz, Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor, William Tong, Democratic candidate for Attorney General, and Shawn Wooden, Democratic candidate for State Treasurer.

Bysiewicz noted that Berger-Girvalo has been working hard on the campaign trail. “She has knocked on thousands of doors. She knows exactly what her constituents will need. She will be a tremendous advocate for [Ridgefield] in Hartford. I am so proud to endorse Aimee and to be on the ticket with her.” [endorsement video]

Tong said he was proud and honored to announce his endorsement and support of Aimee for State Representative. “I think it’s so critical that she get elected. As the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, I have responsibility for the state’s gun laws. This year, though we passed a ban on bump stocks, we did not have enough votes to pass a ban on ghost guns and 3D-printed guns.” Tong noted that one more vote can make a difference. Wooden stated that he is excited, thrilled and honored to endorse Berger-Girvalo’s candidacy. “We need you. We need people who are going to fight for a woman’s right to choose, that are going to stand up for equal pay, that are going to focus on the critical issues affecting our economy in this state; people that care about fixing problems for the long term and also making the right decisions for the short term.” [endorsement video]

Berger-Girvalo is honored to receive these endorsements. “I’ve learned a great deal from First Selectman Marconi about the challenges we face in Ridgefield and the opportunities we can leverage. Senator Blumenthal has always been an advocate for the people of Connecticut. Susan Bysiewicz, William Tong and Shawn Wooden have a proven track record of public service. If elected on November 6 to serve as your state representative, I look forward to working with my Democratic colleagues to ensure that my work in Hartford benefits everyone in Ridgefield.”
