POSTPONED: Two for One with Ridgefield League of Women Voters!

The League of Women Voters of Ridgefield will host its 8th Get To Know Your Town meeting and its 5th annual Art Raffle “kick-off” celebration on February 12th at 10:30 am at Town Hall’s Lower Level Conference Room.  Dr. Mark Meachem, Chair of the Ridgefield Arts Council, will be the guest speaker at the meeting and will talk about the arts in Ridgefield and the synergies between various organizations in town.

The League’s kick off for its annual Art Raffle Fundraiser will unveil renowned artist and Ridgefield Guild of Artists member Rhonda Gentry’s painting “Yellow Roses” which she has generously donated to the League for their fundraiser to help support their mission which includes voter education programs. The ticket drawing for Ms Gentry’s painting will be held at the League’s Guest Bartender Event at Gallo Restaurant on May 14th

The Get To Know Your Town meetings are a series of educational programs for Ridgefielders to learn more about the workings of the various boards, committees, commissions and councils in town. Previous meetings have included the Chairs of the Boards of Education and Finance, the First Selectman, Town Clerk, Registrar of Voters, Planning and Zoning & Inland Wetlands Board and Charter Revision Commission. The February 12th meeting was scheduled to highlight the diversity of the Town of Ridgefield’s organizations and the contributions they make to all areas of the town.

The 10:30 am Get To Know Your Town meeting is free and open to the public.  Light refreshments will be served.

Ridgefield League of Women Voters members are invited to attend the League’s board meeting at 9:15 am prior to the start of the 10:30 Get To Know Your Town meeting.  Email marilyn.carroll@snet.net to RSVP for either meeting.
