Important Information About Nov. 3 Election for Ridgefield Voters

For the November 3, 2020 Presidential election, registered voters will have two options for voting:

Option 1: You will be able to vote in person at your normal voting location (Yanity Gym, Scotts Ridge Middle School or East Ridge Middle School) on Election Day, November 3, 2020 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. All three polling locations will be open on Election Day for in-person socially-distanced and sanitized voting.

OR

Option 2: Due to the pandemic, all registered voters are eligible, but not required to vote by absentee ballot. If you choose the option of voting by absentee, please note the following:

  a. All registered voters will receive in the mail an application to vote absentee from the Secretary of State. Fill out the application and return it to the Office of Town Clerk, 400 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT 06877 as soon as possible. Fill this application out ONLY if you are choosing to vote by absentee. If you have already filed an Application for Absentee Ballot with our office, you do not need to complete the application sent to you by the Secretary of State.

  b. Ballots will be issued by the Office of the Town Clerk beginning Friday, October 2, 2020 by mail or in person.

  c. Follow the directions on the absentee ballot and once completed return as follows:

1. Place completed ballot in the secure Ballot Box located outside the Bailey Avenue entrance to Town Hall.

2. Place completed ballot in the secure metal box mounted to the right of the Town Hall front door; or

3. Mail completed ballot to Town Clerk, 400 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT 06877.
