Here at HamletHub in Ridgefield, we will introduce both the democratic and republican candidates.

Joseph Sorena - Planning and Zoning

We moved to Ridgefield 6 years ago - I'm married with 4 adult children, one of whom works at the Prospector Theater. I am a licensed professional engineer in the State of Connecticut and have been working in the civil construction field for the past 30 years.

What are the main issues facing Planning and Zoning?

Responsibly developing the downtown and commercial properties to increase the commercial tax base and maintain the beauty and charm of the town.

What do you hope to accomplish if elected?

Responsibly developing the downtown and commercial properties to increase commercial tax base and maintain the beauty and charm of the town.

Why are you the right candidate for P&Z this year?

As a licensed professional engineer with experience in infrastructure, road, sewer and other construction projects, my background provides a unique and experienced viewpoint when considering future projects for the town.

What do you hope to accomplish if elected?

Develop more commercial tax base along the Route 7 corridor. Build new facilities for the police, fire, and EMS departments/services for the town.

Chris Molyneaux - Planning and Zoning

I moved to Ridgefield after I graduated from law school in 1991.  I raised two children, Patrick (26) and Erin (24).  I coached youth football, baseball and basketball in town, even after my children aged out from participating.  I have also taught Confirmation at St. Mary Church since 1991. Finally, I have been practicing law in Ridgefield since 1993.

What are the main issues facing Planning and Zoning?

Clearly, the primary issue facing is 8-30g, the Connecticut General Statute (CGS) defining affordable housing requirements in towns like Ridgefield.

Why are you the right candidate for P&Z this year?

As a lawyer, I understand statutes and the various types of arguments that are used to drive interpretations in different ways.  As I represent both buyers and sellers of real estate in town, I'm able to understand the various concerns and perspectives on this issue.

What do you hope to accomplish if elected?

I'd like to find a fairer way of implementing CGS 8-30g within Ridgefield.
