The Ridgefield Republican Town Committee would like to thank all of the candidates who appeared on yesterday’s ballot; that so many came forward to volunteer their time to seek to serve Ridgefield is only the latest reminder (if any were needed) of what a special place our town is. We also thank town voters who did their civic duty to make their voices heard in the voting booth.
The RTC is thrilled to report that in the contested Board of Education election, its three endorsed candidates - Sean McEvoy, Christine More and Julia London- emerged victorious over their Democratic challenger. Ridgefield voters rewarded Sean, an incumbent, for his tireless advocacy on behalf of Ridgefield’s students and his many years of service to our town. Christine and Julia are mothers of children currently in the Ridgefield school system and have resumes perfectly suited for BOE service; Christine is a retired teacher with over 25 years of classroom experience, while Julia is an experienced litigation attorney ready to fight for our students’ best interests.
Voters recognized our candidates’ passion, dedication and positive agenda for Ridgefield schools, and our children are very lucky to have Sean, Christine and Julia fighting for them for the next four years (and hopefully many more).
Finally, while he fell a little short in his effort to unseat the incumbent Democrats on the Police Commission, we owe an immense debt of gratitude to Bob Hebert for running a spirited, issues-based race and, overall, for being such an important and indispensable asset to Ridgefield for many decades.
The Ridgefield RTC celebrates its candidates who prevailed up and down yesterday’s ballot. As we move forward, let us collectively leave behind the divisiveness of the campaign and come together as a community for the sake of our town and our children.
The Ridgefield Republican team looks forward to serving you in the coming years and working with our Democratic colleagues to preserve and protect the unique, wonderful town that we call home!
