Ridgefield Police Update: Hulda Lane Shooting

Early yesterday, Tuesday, June 5, Ridgefield Police responded to reports of gunshots in the vicinity of Hulda Lane.

During the incident, a 15-year-old girl was shot in the back. Ridgefield Police say that she was not a local resident. Police are not sure who shot the girl.

“We are still putting the pieces together in this case,” says Captain Jeff Kreitz.

Police say that that the girl who received the gunshot wound was part of a group of individuals that they believe were involved in criminal activity in the area. “There were several reports of larcenies to motor vehicles on that morning,” says Kreitz.

The girl, who was treated at Waterbury Hospital, is expected to survive.

At this time, no charges filed in this case.

Ridgefield Detectives, members of the CT State Police Major Crime Squad and investigators from Danbury Superior Court are currently investigating the case.
