The Ridgefield Board of Police Commissioners occasionally receives inquiries regarding the 25 mph speed limits on town roads and would like to take the opportunity to inform the public of Town Ordinance 340-3.
Ridgefield Town Ordinance 340-3 states “The speed limit on all Town roads in the Town, other than state roads, shall be 25 miles per hour.”
The speed limits on the state roads in Ridgefield are set by the State Traffic Administration.
The Board of Police Commissioners is by State Statute 14-297 the Local Traffic Authority for the Town of Ridgefield.
