Swastikas in Downtown Ridgefield, Police Investigate

Swastikas found on Aldrich Museum property and on door of the Masonic Lodge on Main Street

According to Ridgefield Police Captain Jeff Kreitz, there were two separate reports of swastikas drawn in downtown Ridgefield this week. "The first incident was at the Aldrich Museum on Main Street and was reported to us on the morning of 1/7/18 by a passerby," said Kreitz, who added, "In this incident, a swastika was drawn on the front door of the museum and two swastikas were drawn on the sign located at the museum's entrance/exit."

The second incident of a swastika was reported to police on Tuesday, January 9.  "In this incident, a swastika was drawn on the door, and another swastika was drawn on the sign of the Masonic Lodge located on Main Street," said Kreitz.

In both incidents, a green marker was used and police believe that the same person(s) is responsible.
