Governor Park Incident
On April 6, 2019, the Ridgefield Police Department was contacted to respond to the Governor Park Baseball Field located off of Governor Street for an active fire.
It was determined that gasoline was spread and ignited in order to dry the dirt infield quicker. The Ridgefield Fire Department and DEEP were contacted due to the fire and environmental hazards posed from the gasoline being used.
The Ridgefield Police is continuing the investigation into this incident.
