Heads-Up! Heatwave Expected Later this Weekend

In a report released by the National Weather Service (NWS) yesterday, July 17th, they announced that a heatwave will be hitting the Northeast for the next few days. Temperatures are expected to reach as high as 96 degrees in the Danbury area on the 19th and 20th. For Hartford, temperatures could even hit the triple digits.

With humidity, however, the NWS stated, “high heat and humidity will combine to produce maximum heat index values of 95 to 100 Sunday and around 100 Monday.” Therefore, from 12 pm on Sunday, July 19th to 9 pm Monday, July 20th, Fairfield County will remain under a heat advisory.

Furthermore, very warm and humid weather can be expected for the remainder of the week.

High temperatures and humidity may lead to heat-related illnesses. Remember to stay hydrated, dress appropriately, and to never leave a child or pet unattended in the car.
