On Saturday, August 1 at 11:04 am, Ridgefield Police officers responded to a motorcycle accident on South Salem Road (Route 35) in Ridgefield. The motorcycle was traveling eastbound when it went off the roadway striking a road sign.
The motorcycle operator was treated at the scene and transported to the Danbury Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The operator has been identified as John Lienhardt, 60 years of age from Cos Cob, CT.
The investigation is ongoing.
