Ridgefield Police Salute Unseen Heroes of Public Safety

This week, the Ridgefield Police Department is celebrating the men and women of our Emergency Communications System.

When you’re faced with an emergency such as crime, a crash, a fire, or a medical episode, these are frequently the very first people you speak to. They answer the calls. They coordinate the emergency responders who go to you during your time of need. They stay calm during stressful situations in order to keep you calm. You rarely see them, but they are there…ready to help you…during what may be the worst time of your life.

We are thankful for them every day of the year, but this week, for National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we ask that you too take a moment to thank them for their splendid service.
