Currently, tropical storm Henri is anticipated to hit our area directly and we should expect heavy rains, winds, and potential power outages to our area. Emergency Management Director Dick Aarons advises residents to make sure they have appropriate, supplies and medications to last for at least five days.

• Be prepared ahead of the storm:
o Have one gallon of water per day per person for five days as well as non-perishable foods for a week including a manual can opener
o Refill all prescriptions before the storm, update first aid kit
o Make digital copies of important documents including your Covid vaccination card to carry with you in case you must evacuate your home.
o Have water and food for your pets for at least five days along with a digital copy of rabies vaccination in case you need to evacuate
o Charge all electronics. Check extra battery supply for portable radios, flashlights, and lanterns
o Assess and eliminate all potential hazards outside your home (furniture, toys, tree branches, etc
o Familiarize yourself with manufacturer’s recommendations for generators. Continue to monitor Henri and be prepared to shelter in place during and several days after the storm should damages and outages occur.
