Longest Serving Detective in History of Ridgefield Police Department Retires Today

Ridgefield Police announced on social media that today, Friday, November 5, 2021, Detective Steven Papstein will be retiring from the Ridgefield Police Department. Please read their message and good wishes below for the longest-serving detective in the history of the Department.
 
Detective Papstein started his career with the Ridgefield Police Department on April 20, 1989. He served in the Patrol Division for 7 years prior to his assignment in the Detective Division.
 
Detective Papstein is the longest-serving detective in the history of the department (1996-2021).
 
Detective Papstein had many specialized skills and received multiple recognitions during his career to include:
 
-Exceptional Service Award Recipient (2009)
-Town Employee of the Year (2008)
-Motorcycle Officer
-Firearms Instructor
-Evidence Officer
-Arson Investigator
