Police Support Class of 2022! Government of Ridgefield Against Drunk Driving Flag Raising Event at Town Hall Today!

Today, the annual G.R.A.D.D. (Government of Ridgefield Against Drunk Driving) Flag Raising event took place in front of Town Hall.

Ridgefield Police remark, "Today, marks 35 years that the Government of Ridgefield Against Drunk Driving (GRADD) has been supporting the senior class in making smart choices, during this celebratory time of year. We congratulate the class of 2022. In sixteen days, the class will be celebrating their graduation. We, as a town government are wishing them all the best as they begin their new, exciting chapter in their lives."

G.R.A.D.D. is a cooperative effort between the police department, students, faculty, town government and citizens to attempt to ensure a safe and sober graduation period for our students. We all know that graduation from high school is a time of celebration for all students. Unfortunately, this celebration often involves alcohol and/or drugs. We work along with the other factions in our town to prevent this.

In support of the graduating class, police officers wear ribbons on their uniforms, class colors are flown on the flag poles of town buildings, and magnets are placed on the rear of the patrol vehicles

"We ask the class of 2022 to be there for one another, support each other and look out for each other," Ridgefield Police say.
