Ridgefield Police Report Vehicle Theft, Suspect Appeared to be Armed

Stolen Motor Vehicle

Ridgefield Police report that on January 12, 2023 at approximately 4:43 am, the Department received a call about a stolen vehicle.

According to Captain Jeff Raines, the caller stated that his 2017 white Honda Pilot was warming up in his garage on Scodon Drive when it was taken.

After checking his home surveillance system, it was determined that a male (possibly late teens, early 20’s), approached the open garage and stole the unlocked vehicle, police say.

According to the police report, the suspect, who appeared to be armed with a handgun was wearing dark-colored athletic-style pants with a light stripe down the sides, a facial mask and a light-colored hoodie pulled over his head at the time of the incident.

The vehicle was then recovered unoccupied a short distance away, after it became disabled.

The Ridgefield Police Detective Division is investigating this incident and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective DuBord at 203-431-2794 or the Ridgefield Police Department tip line at 203-431-2345.

Police remind the public never to approach a suspect(s). "Safely get the best description possible and call 911. This includes the physical description of the person(s) involved, vehicle(s) involved, direction of travel, etc."
