Ridgefield Police promote Lieutenant and Sergeants, award Officer of the Year, and recognize those who went above and beyond the call of duty

The Ridgefield Police Department held a promotional awards ceremony this morning, Thursday, June 22, at the Lounsbury House promoting one Lieutenant and two Sergeants.

Sergeant Lawrence Clarke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, Officer Louis Geller was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and Officer James Van Wattum was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

We also recognized officers who went above and beyond the call of duty during 2022. The officers were recognized with the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Award, the Ridgefield Police Department Exceptional Service Award, and Officer Of The Year Award for 2022.

We would like to thank the Lounsbury House, the Exchange Club of Ridgefield, the Ridgefield First Selectman's Office, the Ridgefield Police Commission and the Ridgefield Police Chaplains for their participation in today's ceremony.

Congratulations once again to all of the recipients!
