ROAR to Host Annual Fall Festival with Blue Buffalo on Sunday

On October 21, 2018, Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR) and Blue Buffalo will host the annual ROAR/Blue Buffalo Furry Friends and Family Fall Festival from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Ridgefield Park and Rec Center at 195 Danbury Rd. in Ridgefield, CT. Attendees and their four-legged friends can come dressed in the Halloween spirit (no masks please).

The event will help ROAR continue its mission to rescue and adopt cats and dogs into caring homes throughout Ridgefield and neighboring towns.

The kid and dog friendly event will feature yard games, crafts for kids, food trucks, live music, dog activities including bobbing for "apples" (aka tennis balls), local police K-9 demos, and a costume parade for dogs and handlers with contest prizes. ROAR gear for animal-loving friends and family will also be available for early holiday shopping.

Kids can also bring their stuffed animals to have well exams, which will be performed by veterinarians at Quarry Ridge Animal Hospital.

“ROAR is looking forward to hosting our annual Fall festival again with Blue Buffalo to offer a variety of educational and fun activities for families and their dogs,” said Kerry Dobson, executive director for ROAR. “The well exams being performed by Quarry Ridge Animal Hospital on kids’ stuffed animals is a great way for them to learn about the importance of annual check-ups for their pets to keep them happy and healthy, and what happens during these visits.”

Admission for the event is $5 for kids who are 11+ years old and for adults, and free for children 10 years old and under. Dogs who attend must be up-to-date on their vaccinations.
