Cia McAlarney has lived in Riverdale with her two sons for the past ten years. For more than 15 years she worked as a freelance writer and editor, publishing primarily in software and academic science. She also teaches English at a local college. Her community work has included fundraising for youth organizations, nature conservation and advocating for area children. She is currently at work on a nonfiction book on a subject of local historical interest. In her spare time she enjoys geocaching, hiking, crossword puzzles and reading. 

In 2014 she won a Connecticut Press Club award in the "Best Online News Story" category.

 

Amir Levine, PhD, LCSW, CASAC

Amir Levine is a husband and father of two young children who are growing up joyfully in Riverdale. Dr. Levine is Co-founder of NYC Therapy Group which provides individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy with offices located in Riverdale NY and Midtown Manhattan. He also serves as the Director of Behavioral Science at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, Department of Family Medicine and is a Clinical Instructor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Levine is deeply committed to his work with his clients and assisting them on their road to mental health, well-being and living a full and satisfying life. Veronica Vaiti, is a dedicated mother, wife and psychotherapist who moved to Riverdale in 2008 from Manhattan with her husband to begin building their family here. With the desire to make quality and individualized therapeutic care more accessible to many, Veronica co-founded NYC Therapy Group which provides individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy with offices located in Riverdale NY and Midtown Manhattan. Governed by a profound respect and appreciation for that which makes us human, and a belief that every single person is born with a unique gift and inner potential yearning to be expressed, Veronica is deeply grateful every day for the lessons learned from being mom to her two children and for the work she encounters with her clients.
