TAINTED COCAINE suspected in multiple deaths in Yonkers and the Bronx
The Yonkers Police Department is investigating two recent apparent overdose incidents in the City of Yonkers, and is aware of three additional apparent overdose incidents in the Woodlawn area of the Bronx, that may be connected to the same source of tainted cocaine. All five incidents resulted in the deaths of the victims. The Yonkers incidents include a 38-year-old male who passed away on Hildreth Place on Friday 9/20, and a 40-year-old male who passed away on King Avenue on Saturday 9/21.
The Yonkers Police Major Case Squad and Narcotics Unit, in collaboration with the NYPD and local law enforcement resources, are actively investigating these deaths and working to identify and apprehend the person(s) responsible for distributing this apparent deadly substance. Community members are advised NEVER to ingest unknown or un-prescribed controlled substances, especially illegal street drugs – the results can be fatal.
