Put Your Stamp on Hastings!
The Hastings-on-Hudson Conservation Commission, in collaborations with the Hastings-on-Hudson Arts Commission, presents a design contest for a logo (or artwork) that fosters pride in Hastings for its efforts to keep its community green and beautiful.
We will print the winning logo on reusable bags in support of the recently passed plastic bag ban. In addition, we will integrate the winning logo into informational materials and signage supporting the new law, include window decals, flyers, posters and banners.
The ban on single-use carry-out plastic bags in stores and restaurants in Hastings goes into effect on January 1st, 2015, and will reduce waste and littler and protect local waterways and wildlife.
The winning logo will be selected by a joint committee of the Conservation Commission and the Arts Commission. The winning artist will receive at $250 prize. We expect the contest to generate media and public attention.
Submission Guidelines:
The submission deadline is September 30th, 2014. The announcement of the winning logo will be made by October 15th, 2014. Submissions should be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
Submissions should adhere to the following specifications:
The logo should have the name Hastings-on-Hudson, NY in the design.
The logo can be multicolored but should be easily adaptable to a single-tone color and accommodate various sizes, from decals to banners.
