You're IT Apple Blossom School and Family Center!

Three questions with Lizzy McDonald, Enrollment and Communications Coordinator at Apple Blossom School and Family Center.

Why did you start your business?

Apple Blossom School and Family Center was founded to share the magic of Waldorf Early Education with Fairfield County families and their children. At our school, children develop their imaginationsocial skills, and creative thinking through play and exploration of nature.

In a time where technology trumps playing outside and children experience increasing pressure to perform at younger and younger ages, creating spaces where children can be children, connected to nature, and free to explore and interact is crucial. At Apple Blossom School and Family Center, we trust in the wisdom and inner confidence of the child. We started our school because we value children as whole human beings who deserve the freedom to be children. At school, we bake bread, sing, climb, have free play, enjoy puppet shows, hear stories, and gain a strong sense of community and self-efficacy while laying the foundation for academic learning. In addition to our children's programs, our Family Center is a haven for parents and caregivers to learn, receive support, and experience true community. Our Waldorf pedagogy stems from the work of Rudolf Steiner and the respectful caregiving approach of Dr. Emmi Pikler. Call or email to schedule a tour or join for one free Parent & Child Class. 203-493-4003

Our mixed-age Nursery and Kindergarten classes (18 months-7 years) offer a holistic rhythm designed to meet the needs of each individual child in a beautiful, calm and secure environment, and are a time to learn and be educated from the inside out. Join us for an authentic morning in a Waldorf classroom at our Open House, Saturday, November 9th from 9:30-12:30. Email to RSVP: admissions@appleblossomschool.org
