Learn About Fencing

Join us Saturday, March 3 at 10 am at the Rye Free Reading Room, for a free demonstration and discussion of the sport of fencing with the coaching staff from the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club in Port Chester which opened this past fall by three-time Olympian Tim Morehouse.

“Fencing is a sport that challenges the brain as strenuously as the body and is great for speed, agility, strength and coordination, as well as self-discipline and self-confidence,” says Morehouse, who won an Olympic Silver Medal in the men’s saber team event in 2008 and an Olympic team member in ‘04, ‘08 and ‘12, a nine-time world team member and two-time individual U.S. National Champion. “The sport requires quick strategic thinking and determination while offering a mix of camaraderie and self-reliance since fencers train with teammates yet compete on their own.”
