Start your Independence Day celebration early, and enjoy the annual sweet potato pie-eating contest on Saturday, June 30 from 9am to 2pm at New Rochelle Downtown Grand Market.
There will be a free American flag giveaway, while supplies last, plus live bluegrass music and an Independence Day-themed craft (from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.), live bluegrass music (from noon to 1 p.m.) The pie-eating contest starts at 1 p.m., sponsored by the Luscious Little Dessert Company. Three contestants will be chosen.
