Colony Grill Comes to Port Chester

Colony Grill, home of the Original Hot Oil Bar Pie, is opening the doors of its newest location in Port Chester on July 2. Located at 35 Abendroth Avenue, the restaurant – the first in the state of New York – will begin serving up its signature bar pies at 11:30am, when guests will also have the chance to receive gift cards and Colony Grill apparel as well as the opportunity to win a pizza truck party for 50 people.

With a singular focus on its longstanding, beloved pizza offerings, Colony Grill’s menu features a variety of bar pies ranging from cheese to salad to breakfast pie, including the ‘hot oil’ topping that has been a fan favorite for the past 80 years. Gluten-free crust is also available. The 5,200-square-foot restaurant will provide seating for roughly 175 guests and will be located in the heart of Port Chester, with both indoor and outdoor patio seating overlooking the banks of the Byram River.

Colony Grill’s origins from 1935 date back to an Irish immigrant neighborhood in Stamford, Conn. known as “The Colony.” During the Great Depression, a local neighborhood tavern came to be known as Colony Grill. The name remains as a link to its heritage and to a time in America filled with sacrifice and service in light of World War II.

In tribute to that legacy, Colony Grill dedicates space within each restaurant to its "Wall of Heroes,” a display of photos that honors those who have served in uniform – either at home or abroad – as first responders or members of the United States Armed Forces. The interior of the restaurant’s Port Chester location will celebrate the community’s rich history and tell the story of community heroes through hanging photos and memorabilia.

“We are so excited to be in Port Chester,” said Ken Martin, co-owner and operator of Colony Grill.  “In addition to providing what we believe is a unique pizza and a comfortable neighborhood tavern setting, we perhaps most look forward to becoming a strong thread in the local community fabric.”

The Colony Grill menu features a variety of local brews, a full bar and assorted bar pies (all of which are 12-inch and super thin-crust) including such guest favorites as:

·         Original Hot Oil Bar Pie – Drizzled with a spicy, full-of-flavor, pepper-infused creation.

·         Salad Pie – Colony Grill’s signature crust baked with a touch of olive oil and sea salt and topped with hearty mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots in a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Cheese and sauce available upon request.

·         Breakfast Pie – Bacon or sausage, egg and cheese (available weekends only from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.).

·         Additional Pie Toppings – Sausage, pepperoni, meatball, mushrooms, onions, black olives, cherry peppers, sweet peppers, stingers, anchovies and bacon.
