The Blind Brook Board of Education is pleased to announce that on January 25th, Dr. Jonathan Ross will be named Superintendent of the Blind Brook - Rye Union Free School District.
Dr. Ross has served as Blind Brook's Interim Superintendent for the past 10 months, and following a rigorous selection process, which included many highly qualified candidates, Dr. Ross proved himself to be the person most qualified to lead Blind Brook into the future.
Since 2001, Dr. Ross has served with distinction as Blind Brook's Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Facilities. His knowledge of the district, its staff, students, parents, and community will serve him well in managing the organization, operations, and resources of the district to create the best possible opportunities for students to learn, grow, and succeed.
Dr. Ross earned his Undergraduate Degree at Lehman College, and Masters Degrees at Baruch College and Mercy College in Public Administration and School Business Administration respectively. He also holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership/School Business Leadership from The Fischler School of Education and Human Services at Nova Southeastern University. He has taught educational administration courses at Manhattanville College and Mercy College.
During his fifteen years at Blind Brook, Dr. Ross has set a high standard as a motivational leader with a strong work ethic. He is a committed life-long learner and works hard to ensure that each student realizes his or her potential. We look forward to working with Dr. Ross in his new position as we continue to work in the best interests of our students and our community.
The Blind Brook Community is invited to attend Dr. Ross' appointment at the next Board of Education meeting on Monday, January 25th at 7:30 p.m. to be held in the Monroe E. Haas IMC at Blind Brook Middle High School, located at 840 King Street, Rye Brook.
