The Green Business Partnership (GBP), a sustainability certification program founded by the Business Council of Westchester in partnership with Westchester County and Green Team Spirit LLC, recently honored 6 organizations at the 10th Annual Green Business Partnership Awards.

The awards were given in the categories that the Green Business Partnership identifies as part of its certification process, and one in honor of the late Charlie Brown, a visionary green business leader that demonstrated a true commitment to sustainability as founder and CEO of C.W. Brown in Armonk (now LeChase Construction).

Cerebral Palsy of Westchester in Rye Brook provides essential educational services, direct services, vocational training, recreation, rehabilitation and advocacy to children and adults with all developmental disabilities including autism, neurological impairments, intellectual disabilities, epilepsy and cerebral palsy. The organization received the Charles W. Brown, Jr. Sustainability Award for visionary leadership and commitment to sustainability.

“We at the Partnership believe that sustainable business should be the global standard in order to ensure that all people and communities everywhere have equitable access to a safe, clean, healthy and nourishing environment,” said Dani Glaser, GBP Program Director and owner of Green Team Spirit LLC. “Our role in that global vision is to accelerate sustainable business by engaging, educating and empowering organizational leaders and staff to make meaningful and measurable changes. Our honorees have and continue to work hard to be part of the solution, protecting our planet and resources for future generations and reducing costs and positively engaging employees along the way. We have a lot to celebrate.”
