International award winning artist Shreya Mehta has been chosen to present her solo art exhibit, "The Spirit of Shakti", at the Indian Consulate in New York.
Formally trained in charcoal, paint, & glass mediums, Shreya has been creating vibrant and powerful art works in New York for the past 15 years. "The Spirit of Shakti" depicts the challenges women face at the crossroads of Eastern & Western cultures. Regarding this collection, Shreya says, "There is a Goddess in every woman, an unexplainable strength that comes from within. This is the essence of what I am trying to portray through my works".
This event is being launched for the Indian Consulate's State by State Initiative, representing Gujarat. An invitation only cocktail reception will be held on November 13, 2014 at the Consulate's Ballroom.
