Two Scarsdale Library Adult Book Clubs
to Meet in March
SCARSDALE, March 8 – Two Scarsdale Public Library book groups for adults are scheduled to meet on Wednesdays in March at 1 p.m. With construction underway at Olmsted Road, the sessions will be held at other locations.
Nancy’s Book Group, led by Nancy Zachary, will come together on March 20th to discuss Paris in the Present Tense by Mark Helprin. Helprin’s powerful, rapturous new novel is set in a present-day Paris caught up in violent unrest and upheaval. Seventy-four-year-old Jules Lacour―a maître at Paris-Sorbonne, cellist, widower, veteran of the war in Algeria, and child of the Holocaust―must find a balance between the strong pull of the past and the attractions and beauties of life and love in the present.
The group will meet at the Mid-Westchester JCC, 999 Wilmot Road. Registration is required. Please call the Reference Desk at 914-722-1302.
“A gambler, a convict, a wayward son, a lost Grisha, a Suli girl who had become a killer, a boy from the Barrel who had become something worse.” Not Your Kids Book Club for Adults, the monthly session for adults interested in what young adults are reading, will discuss Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo Ketterdam.
The program will be held on March 27th at Shaarei Tikva, 46 Fox Meadow Road. Attendee parking is limited to the front of the building. Not Your Kids Book Club for Adults is led by Scarsdale resident and children’s author Sheela Chari. To register, contact Chari at This email address is being protected from spambots.
