Scarsdale Police Arrest Fugitive from Justice

On 1/06/2017 at 0910 hours, a 37 year old male from Georgia, came into Scarsdale Police Headquarters to report that he had been involved in a crime in Roswell, Georgia. The male was interviewed by the Scarsdale Police and confessed to committing a shooting homicide that occurred in Roswell, Georgia in January of 2012. The Scarsdale Police Department Investigations Section contacted the Roswell, Georgia Police Department where the crime occurred and confirmed the details of the man’s statements.

The Roswell, Georgia Police Department obtained an arrest warrant, and the subject was arrested by the Scarsdale Police Department on a Fugitive from Justice Charge under New York State Criminal Procedure Law 570.34. The defendant was arraigned in the Scarsdale Justice Court and was remanded to the Westchester County where is being held pending a Superior Court Hearing.

Investigators from the Roswell, Georgia Police Department traveled to Scarsdale to meet with Police, interview the defendant and continue their investigation. Because the defendant is the subject of active ongoing investigations in other jurisdictions, his identity is not being released at this time.
