Burglary of an Occupied Residence in Scarsdale

On Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at approximately 2:16 am, a Berwick Road resident called 911 to report that two men wearing masks were in her home. Scarsdale Police were dispatched to the residence and arrived on scene in 2 minutes and 53 seconds. Initial responding officers interviewed the victims while additional officers began an immediate area search for the suspects.

A Westchester County Police tracking canine was requested, and responded to the scene to aid in the search for the suspects.

The victims reported that they were in bed and were woken up by the sounds of the two men running through the home. Both the husband and wife confronted the suspects, and a physical altercation between the homeowners and the suspects occurred. The suspects were both able to flee the residence, at which time the homeowner called 911.

Members of the Scarsdale Police Department’s Investigations Section responded to the residence to forensically process the scene and collect physical evidence. The suspects were not located, and no arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing, and any additional information will be released as it develops.
