A Statement from Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) on the state of budget negotiations
“Another year, and regrettably, another late state budget. It’s become abundantly clear Gov. Hochul and her Democrat colleagues are miles apart on an agreement as we approach tonight’s midnight deadline.
“The budget deadline is always April 1. It’s an utter disgrace that Gov. Hochul and her Democrat colleagues are playing games with the schools, hospitals, first responders and so many others who desperately rely on state funding to operate. As a former town supervisor, I know the importance of making sure these budgets are on time and I am very disappointed in this abdication of leadership.”
