“Dragonfly” by Leila Meacham

Hybrid, Friday, October 20th, 2:30 PM - 4 PM

Virtual, Monday, October 23rd, 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM

The Somers Library Book Group meets to discuss “Dragonfly” by Leila Meacham. The Book Group has both a day and an evening session created to accommodate individuals who work or who cannot make daytime sessions.

At the height of WWII, five idealistic young Americans receive a mysterious letter from the OSS, asking them if they are willing to fight for their country. All come from different backgrounds; all respond to the call, each for a secret reason of their own. They bond and name themselves Dragonfly. Soon they are dropped behind enemy lines, isolated from one another, but in close contact with Nazi elite. Thus begins a dramatic riveting game of spycraft; can they achieve the mission?

This Library-sponsored book group is led by Diana Cunningham, Librarian, who selects the books to be discussed, chosen in consultation with Tara Ferretti, Head of Public Services, with feedback and suggestions from the group. Registration is required; interested individuals should specify the desired session. For more information please call the reference desk at (914) 232-5717 ext.3. Copies of the book to be discussed are available on a first-come first serve basis.
