Byrne Facilitates Successful Food and Toy Drives

Assemblyman Kevin Byrne (R,C,Ref-Mahopac) is proud to announce the success of his annual holiday food and toy drives. Residents from across the 94th Assembly District dropped off hundreds of food items and toys at drop-off locations in Patterson, Somers, Yorktown, Southeast, Carmel, and Putnam Valley.

Byrne delivered the food to a number of food pantries in the district, including the Brewster Community Food Pantry, First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown Food Pantry, St. Luke's Episcopal Church Food Pantry in Somers, the Community Food Pantry at St. Mary’s of Mohegan Lake, the Patterson Community Church Food Pantry, and the Putnam Valley Community Food Pantry. In addition, Byrne also partnered with Love Holds Life Children’s Cancer Foundation for their annual toy drive, and delivered toys to children on Christmas Eve at the The Bagel Emporium of Yorktown Heights.

“It’s wonderful to witness such enthusiastic participation from residents in the area who are willing to help those in need,” said Byrne. “This was by far our best food and toy drive yet, and I thank everyone who donated for their generosity.  I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to all our local food pantries for the incredible work they do in our community throughout the year. These organizations provide a vital service and it’s always a pleasure to work with them. Please keep these organizations and other food pantries in the area in mind throughout the entire year to  help us support their great efforts.”

“It was great partnering with Assemblyman Byrne during the holiday season to provide food for families that need our help. If possible, please consider donating to your local food pantry throughout the year,” said Brewster Community Food Pantry Co-President Sue Burcroff.

Rich Senato, the founder and CEO of Love Holds Life, added, “Thank you to Assemblyman Byrne for working with Love Holds Life during the holidays to help brighten the season for children in need.”
