Join us for this diverse point to point hike in Westchester County NY featuring very diverse terrain and sights!

Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Taco Bell (359 Downing Dr, Yorktown Heights, NY)

This fits into our Empire State Trail series we have been working on for years, but we'll be doing far more than just a rail trail.
After meeting at Yorktown Green Shopping Center near the Taco Bell, we will shuttle with as few cars as possible to where we last left off to the south at Croton Reservoir. We'll head across a bridge and follow a piece of the Teatown-Kitchewan Trail.

We'll take just about every little meandering trail in the entire preserve through the next section rather than just going straight on Teatown Kitchewan Trail, and then make our way to the Old Putnam line, the rail trail that leads between NYC and upstate.
We'll take to one other loop trail before crossing the Croton Reservoir on an impressive through truss bridge.
Once on the other side, we take the trail and then do a side trip to loop through Turkey Mountain Nature Preserve, which features overlooks.

We return to the Old Put, and continue to follow it the remaining distance back to Yorktown Heights.
Distance will be about 15 miles. For those wishing to cut it shorter, it's possible to take a break and skip 3.3 miles at Turkey Mountain, or any number of the early loops along the way, so hikers need only cover 9 or 10 miles if they so wish (I am doing all of it).
Call or text 908 343 8374 if any further info needed.
