Demystifying Medicare Online Presentation - The Westchester Library System is offering an opportunity to learn how Medicare works, since a complete understanding of the whole system is key to making the best personal health insurance decisions. This interactive online workshop allows participants a chance to absorb audio chapters at their own pace and refer to downloadable handouts. Demystifying Medicare is designed not only for people currently enrolled in Medicare, but for those soon to be 65 or helping relatives and friends with their medical decisions and paperwork. Topics include Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, prescription drug plans, Medigaps (supplemental plans), EPIC, and cost-saving programs for people with limited resources. Virtual Workshop: Painting in Autumn/w Judika. Mondays, September 14, 21, & Oct 5, 19 from 11:00am - 12:30pm. It's Fall, an inspirational season to create more ART! We can draw from Nature's colors using acrylic paints, watercolors or watercolor oil pencils. This class offers you the time & space to make new artwork to express yourself. Judika Lieberman is a local artist well-versed in all disciplines, and will demonstrate the advantages of each medium. Whether you are a novice or expert, you're all welcome! Virtual Presentation: 1968. Thursday, September 24, 6:30 - 8:00 pm. 1968 was the most turbulent year of the Swinging 60s and America seemed to be coming apart: The Vietnam War become increasingly unpopular, both Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy were assassinated, and a riot occurred during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. There were trouble spots around the world, in Czechoslovakia, France, and Mexico. Lyndon Johnson decided to not seek re-election as president and both women's lib and the civil rights movement were major issues. After all these stressful events, 1968 ends with man circling the moon. Please register!
