Virtual Program:  Code Heroes:  Learn to Code / Change the World!  Wednesdays, 9/9, 
9/16, 9/23, 9/30 & 10/7 from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm. Learning code is about much more than simply creating games.  Code can be used to educate our peers and change the world!  This program focuses on creating amazing experiences with code to educate our community on cyber bullying.  Students will address the impacts of cyber bullying and design a choose-your-own-adventure game that presents a variety of different cyber bullying scenarios, create custom graphics, and code their games using Scratch! This program is for participants in grades 6th - 8th.  Digital Arts Experience in partnership with AT&T and The Westchester Library System and is 100% free!  There are only 5 sessions, each 90 minutes.  Registrants are required to attend all sessions.  Space is limited.  Please register!
 
Virtual - Teen Kahoot! Trivia - Thursdays, 3:30 pm - 4:45 beginning October 1st.  Meeting dates:  10/1, 10/15,10/29, 11/5, 11/19, 12/3, & 12/17. Join us for a virtual quiz challenge using Kahoot, an online app. Teens will compete for small prizes in a variety of trivia categories. Topics will not be announced in advance and all teens must compete as individuals.  Registration is necessary. This program is intended for teens in grades 7th and up!

Virtual Presentation: Race Amity of Northern Westchester & Putnam. Sunday, 9/13, 2:00 - 4:00 pm. Please join us for our monthly discussion as we work to advance cross-racial and cross-cultural amity to impact the public discourse on race.  Our monthly meetings feature speakers, screenings, and presentations where discussions are aimed at educating one another on who we really are. Demystifying Medicare Online Presentation - The Westchester Library System is offering an opportunity to learn how Medicare works, since a complete understanding of the whole system is key to making the best personal health insurance decisions.  This interactive online workshop allows participants a chance to absorb audio chapters at their own pace and refer to downloadable handouts.  Demystifying Medicare is designed not only for people currently enrolled in Medicare, but for those soon to be 65 or helping relatives and friends with their medical decisions and paperwork. Topics include Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, prescription drug plans, Medigaps (supplemental plans), EPIC, and cost-saving programs for people with limited resources. Virtual Workshop:  Painting in Autumn/w Judika.  Mondays, September 14, 21, & Oct 5, 19 from 11:00am - 12:30pm. It's Fall, an inspirational season to create more ART! We can draw from Nature's colors using acrylic paints, watercolors or watercolor oil pencils.  This class offers you the time & space to make new artwork to express yourself. Judika Lieberman is a local artist well-versed in all disciplines, and will demonstrate the advantages of each medium.  Whether you are a novice or expert, you're all welcome! Please have your supplies for class: canvases, paper, brushes, water cup, palette, and your favorite medium.  Then the fun will begin! Class is limited to 25 people.
 
Alzheimer's Conversations: Protecting Your Health and Wealth.  Wednesday, September 16, 1:00 - 2:30 pm.  Please join us for this webinar presentation hosted by Judi McAnaw, Financial Advisor, Edward Jones and featuring a special guest speaker from the Alzheimer's Association. Alzheimer's is one of the costliest diseases; a lifetime cost of care can be over $350,000. This disease robs families of their relationships and their wealth - two things we work so hard to preserve. At this special presentation, we'll discuss:  Alzheimer's disease risk factors, warning signs, resources and how you can join the fight. 1.  Yoga for Kids- Virtual program via Zoom! Best for PreK-Gr. 2.

Led by Pina Tripodi, children's book author,
teacher and yoga instructor!

Join author, artist and yoga teacher, Pina Tripodi, for a 6 week yoga + art series! Children will learn how to activate their inner power and unleash their creative expression through yoga, art, mindfulness practices and story time. Each class will focus on a new theme including: confidence, compassion, inspiration, intuition, emotions, and courage. Best for PreK-2.

You will receive instructions to sign on to this Zoom program prior to the start of the class.  Please do not share this link.

Details:  Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with a physical activity that's non-competitive.  Classes will help children to learn techniques for self-health, relaxation and inner fulfillment.  Benefits from yoga are not only physically- it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination and body awareness.  
In addition, a Tibetan Singing bowl will be played at the end of class to improve children's sense of calmness and relaxation.
Join 6 Zoom Children's Yoga classes:  exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self and develop a relationship with the natural world that surrounds them.
These classes will be led by Vivian Lee, a certificed Bikram Yoga, Yin Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga insruvtor who has also been studying Children's yoga.
Helpful:  Have a yoga mat and stuffed animal prior to class start.
