Maloney Will Advance Nearly $20M for Hyper-Local Community Projects to Senate

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) announced he will advance a package of appropriations bills that invest in American jobs, opportunity, and working families. Included in this legislation are nine of the hyper-local community project proposals Rep. Maloney submitted to the Appropriations Committee in May. These projects, which will send $18.35 million to the district, now move to the Senate.

“Funding our government is a reflection of values. This week, House Democrats are investing in good-paying jobs, the middle class, infrastructure, and American families. Our funding bills meet the needs of today and prepare our country for the challenges of tomorrow. I am proud this legislation includes my proposals to jumpstart our local economy and improve the daily lives of my constituents. $20 million dollars to the Hudson Valley is no chump change. These are essential projects ready to be executed, and I’m fighting to give them the green light.”

“We couldn’t have gotten through this pandemic without Congressman Maloney’s help. American Rescue Plan funds kept folks in their jobs and food on the table for families in Poughkeepsie,” said Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison.  “Now, as our recovery continues, Congressman Maloney is advocating for our long-term development, as well as the safety of our community, in Congress. This essential community project investment will improve the lives of families in Poughkeepsie for years to come.”

Nine projects Rep. Maloney submitted were included in the Appropriations Interior, Agriculture, Transportation, and Labor bills.

These projects include:
