12th Annual Putnam County Wine & Food Fest to Be Held August 5th and 6th

The Putnam County Wine & Food Fest is proud to announce the lineup for its 12th annual event that takes place on August 5-6, 2023 (two days) at Wells Park, 98 Oak Street in Brewster, New York. The Fest will highlight New York’s and beyond most renowned ciders, distillers, and wine producers and their goods through tastings. They will be sold by the bottle or the case.

“I am thrilled that the festival is being held at Wells Park in Brewster, which has a fabulous playground, a large pavilion, a tennis court, and an open field and stage. This is an attractive venue that is centrally located for many of our longtime patrons," festival founder Lauren Drummond said.

The festival, which runs from 11am-6pm on Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday, will feature food, arts and crafts, children’s activities such as face painting, sand art, and cornhole. There will also be a beer tent that will allow visitors to purchase beer.

The entertainment offering this year includes a not to be missed cooking demo from renowned Chef Marcus Guiliano of Aroma Thyme Restaurant in Ellenville, NY. There will also be live music with a mix of genres from Rock & Roll, Blues, Soul, and Reggae with The Cadillac Brothers and School of Rock Band (Beacon) already confirmed to perform.

Festival organizers have added this year, a Caribbean Day slated for Sunday, August 6, featuring, DJ Saggy, a.k.a., Tennyson from Reggae Vibes, who will bring his DJ skills to bear; Anton Bernard, a Trinidadian based in New York City; Dub poet and music producer; Laury Webb, who has been on the reggae circuit for many years performing alongside musical heavyweights likes of Snoop “Lion” Dogg, Matisyahu and reggae rock duo, Simone G and Earth.

Simone G, a former backing vocalist for Grammy winning artist Stephen Marley has performed with the Wailers, Causion, Third World, Marcia Griffiths, Glen Washington, and Talking Dreads. Her voice can also be heard on Burning Spear’s Grammy nominated album, “Our Music.”

Musical director and keyboardist Earth creates the band’s fusion style. He is an accomplished illustrator. After interning at Marvel Comics, he went on to work for Archie Comics illustrating the highly popular “Sonic the Hedgehog” series. More artists will be announced in the next few weeks.

Also new this year is a pickleball portion which will be hosted by The Pickleball Barn and will give attendees an opportunity to play pickleball and instructional sessions on the tennis court.

Vendors that have signed up so far include Adirondack Winery, Aunt Bonnies, Cooper's Daughter Spirits (Old York Farm), Ferrera Carpenter Winery, Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery, Floor Coverings International, High Falls Hemp NY, Prudential, Serious Dirt Botanics, Uncle Louie G, Pat’s Kitchen, and more to be announced.

Putnam County Wine & Food Fest sponsors and partners include Berkshire Broadcasting Corporation,  Danbury Fair Mall, Hudson Valley Wine Magazine, HamletHub, MTA Metro-North Railroad, and The Examiner News Media. The event is still accepting sponsorship, vendor, and volunteer applications.

Parking is available at the Metro-North Station, Marvin Avenue Parking, Marvin Avenue & Railroad Avenue, 390 Railroad Avenue, and at 10 Park Street, Brewster, NY where you can take a free shuttle bus to and from the Wine Fest during the festival hours.

Tasting Tickets are $25 each day/ $30 at the Door (for 21 years & over) and $10 for Designated Drivers. Children under fifteen are free. Attendees will need a photo ID for registration. Rain or shine, no refunds.
