Becca Raffo, a senior at Somers High School, is exhibiting her photography, drawings, and paintings at the Somers Library during the month of September.
She will host an Art Opening at the Somers Library in the Program Room on Saturday, September 13 from 12:30-2:30PM.
Becca is a member of the Art National Honors Society, the Fashion, Art and Photo Clubs, the National Honor Society and the co-president of the Environmental Club. She has received high school awards in drawing, painting, and fashion. Becca is a recipient of the Girl Scout Gold Award. Her project demonstrated that art is a universal language among people of different cultures. Becca connected children in Mt. Kisco, NY and Nicaragua through art classes she led in both places. Her project culminated with an event that strengthened the whole community by bringing together diverse people to paint a mural she designed and which is now permanently installed at the Family Center in Neighbors Link Northern Westchester. Her outstanding achievement was recognized by the Office of the New York State Attorney General which awarded the "Triple C Award" to Becca in 2014.
