Somers BSA Troop 376 25th Anniversary Celebration & June Court of Honor

Troop 376 celebrated its 25th Anniversary on Friday, June 7th at Reis Park. The celebration was coupled with the Troop's June Court of Honor and was attended by over 120 Scouts, Family Members, Friends of the Troop and guests.

Judge McDermott presented the Troop with three proclamations. Scouts were recognized for their Rank Advancements, earning Merit Badges and various special awards. Randy Peterson was introduced as our newest Assistant Scout Master – welcome Randy!

All guests participated in a BBQ family picnic with lots of great food, dessert, fun & games.

In 1994 the Troop was formed with 7 Scouts and 6 adults as the third Boy Scout Troop in Somers. One of the founding members, Mrs. Thelma Barlow was in attendance and honored with flowers. The Troop is chartered by the Church of the Good Shepherd in Granite Springs and Rev. Hal Roark provided the invocation.

Many thanks to all who participated. And a special thanks to Juliet Cavallaro & Dennis Dunston for organizing, shopping and setting up; and to Robert & Jennifer Gajda, Jerry Stoecker and Jason Rosolen who staffed the grill and kept the food coming all evening.
