SCOUTS to HONOR COUNTY EXECUTIVE GEORGE LATIMER on NOVEMBER 19th

The Westchester-Putnam Council Boy Scouts of America will be honoring community leaders at the Distinguished Citizens Awards reception on Tuesday, November 19th, 2019. The event will be held at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel in Tarrytown from 5:30-7:30 pm and will be hosted by the City of White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach.

Being honored is Westchester County Executive George Latimer. “We are very grateful for the County Executive supporting and furthering Scouting in our communities,” said Paxton Louis, President of the Westchester Putnam Council. “Throughout his over 25 years of public service, County Executive George Latimer has been a strong supporter of the Scouting Program, a program dedicated to helping youth develop values, to prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime, and to become responsible citizens.”

Westchester County Executive George Latimer said: “I am honored to receive the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Boy Scouts of America Westchester-Putnam Council. Scouting helps our youth to develop strong leadership qualities, academic skills, good ethics, high character and a self-confidence that will carry through to their adult lives. Scouts set an example to their peers through their high achievement, and I will always be a proud supporter of the Council’s Scouting Program.”

The Distinguished Citizen Award is presented to community leaders who provide outstanding civic service and is given on behalf of the youth served by the Westchester Putnam Council.

Also, being recognized for his support of Scouting is Mr. Thomas Miles, VP of Portfolio Management for Pacific Retail Capital Group.

All proceeds from this fundraising reception will benefit youth through our local Scouting Program.
