Jerry Stiller, the legendary comedian and actor best known for playing Frank Costanza on “Seinfeld” passed away Monday morning at the age of 92. The cause of death was natural causes according to his son Ben Stiller, who announced the passing in a Twitter post Monday morning.
"I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad."
A native of Brooklyn, Stiller was born June 8, 1927. He studied drama at Syracuse University and soon began working in local theaters and clubs. Not long after e bagna working he met and married, Anne Meara who was also a performer. The couple began working together as comedy team Stiller & Meara, appearing on TV shows including “The Ed Sullivan Show” mor ethen 2 dozen times. The couple also starred in their own short-lived sitcom, “The Stiller and Meara Show.”

Stiller also appeared in movies, including the original “The Taking of Pelham One Two Three,” both the 1988 and 2007 versions of “Hairspray,” and “Zoolander,” which starred his son, Ben Stiller.
Stiller and Meara were honored with a joint star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007. He is survived by their children, Ben and Amy Stiller, both of whom are actors.
