For High School Students

KMA Teen Council 

KMA seeks motivated, arts-interested HS students to join its Teen Council program.  Students meet weekly to explore Museum program development, audience engagement, and artistic practice, capping it off with for-teens events which they produce themselves. The 2018-2019 Teen Council will run September to June.

Young Artists 2019 (February 10 - March 3, 2019)

Senior student's artwork from over 40 local high schools is highlighted in this annual exhibition. With the guidance of professionals, the aspiring artists participate in all aspects of presenting a museum exhibition, including invitation design, curation, and installation of the exhibition. Contact the Education Department to find out how your school can participate. Mark your calendars: Artwork drop off dates: Monday, February 4 a Tuesday, February 5; Opening reception: Sunday, February 10.

Extreme Jewelry in the 21st Century

Discover the art of jewelry and ornamentation in this stunning exhibition of more than 50 works of art that explore the intersections between jewelry and sculpture; adornment and statement; personal expression and public perception. How do artistic forms of jewelry and ornamentation convey messages, communicate identities, and challenge preconceptions? Tours will investigate these questions as well as the unique materials and techniques employed by the artists.

LANDESCAPE: 

Land's Reimagining in America, 1900 - 2018

March 17 - June 16, 2019

This exhibition considers the genre of landscape when modern abstraction first emerged as well as its resurgence in the present.  On view are paintings by artists including Milton Avery, Marguerite Zorach, Marsden Hartley, and Georgia O'Keefe who transformed the traditional landscape into bold fields of color. Works by these iconic American painters are paired with contemporary artists including Jo Baer, Alex Katz, April Gornik, Shara Hughes, Kerry James Marshall who have taken the modern landscape to new, surprising directions.

The Katonah Museum of Art is located at 134 Jay Street, Katonah, NY 10536.

Museum hours are: Tuesday through Saturday from 10am - 5pm, Sunday from 12pm - 5pm, closed Monday.

General admission: $10 adults, $5 seniors & students.

Members & children under the age of 12 always enter free.
