Peter and the Starcatcher opens at Ridgefield Theater Barn on June 3

The Ridgefield Theater Barn is rounding out their 2021-2022 Mainstage season with Peter and the Starcatcher, a fantastical play (with music) by Rick Elice that will delight the whole family.

Directed by Katherine Ray, with assistant direction by Renee Southerland and choreography by Sharon Houk, the production will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm, June 3rd through the 25th, with Sunday matinees at 5pm on June 12th & 19th.

In this five-time Tony Award-winning play, thirteen brilliant actors (Matt Austin, Gabby Babun, Olivia Basile, Lizzy Booth, Cara Bunning, Alex Hartofelis, Laura Portera, Hannah Rapaglia, Patrick Spadaccino, Michael Valinoti, Tarah Vega, Bill Warncke, and Michael Wright) play more than 100 unforgettable characters using their enormous talent, ingenious stagecraft and the limitless possibilities of imagination. This swashbuckling grownup prequel to Peter Pan will have you hooked from the moment you let your imagination take flight.

A young orphan and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain’s cabin, which contains a precious, otherworldly cargo. At sea, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training who realizes that the trunk’s precious cargo is starstuff, a celestial substance so powerful that it must never fall into the wrong hands. When the ship is taken over by pirates – led by the fearsome Black Stache, a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own – the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure.

The Ridgefield Theater Barn is located at 37 Halpin Lane. Masks are optional for vaccinated patrons. Seating is cabaret-style, and the audience is invited to bring food and drinks. Concessions are also available in the lobby. Doors open one hour prior to curtain. Tickets are $35 for adults, $30 for students, veterans, and seniors, and reservations can be made at ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org.
